A group of 20 students and lecturers from Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT) made an educational visit today to local IT security company IT Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS) as part of their studies in Business Computing.
The group comprised students pursuing Higher National Diploma in Business Management and Business Accounting. The purpose of their visit was to provide some insight into the operation of the company, in order to supplement various theories learned in the classroom.
The visit began with an introduction to ITPSS and the range of IT security services offered. Hj Mas Zuraime Hj Abdul Hamid, Head of Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT), elaborated on ITPSS’s roles & functions as Brunei’s national CERT, in addition to services such as Incident Response, Managed Security Services and IT security awareness training. Several students and lecturers expressed a keen interest in organising such security awareness talks at CCCT in the near future.
The highlight of the visit was a briefing by ITPSS’s Human Resources Executive, Mordeny Hj Modihi, on the Human Resources Information System which is being utilized by the company. The students were presented on how the online system assists the company in maintaining a record of employee information, attendance, leave, training, and performance appraisals. The visit was concluded with a short tour of the premises and its facilities.
