RTB’s Pilihan FM English Section and Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) are collaborating on a new radio program in April to promote awareness of Internet safety and information security among the Bruneian public.
The programme called Cyber Safe will feature two new topics each week, and covers a range of issues that every online user should be aware of. Upcoming topics include: hoax messages, making friends online, identity theft, online gaming, online shopping, how strong are your passwords, online safety for children and posting photos of children online.
The programme is compiled for broadcast by DJ Marilyn Mui of Pilihan FM, with the content prepared by a team from BruCERT. DJ Marilyn said, “As Bruneians are avid users of IT and the Internet, there is an urgent need to educate ourselves about cyber threats and risks to our privacy and safety.”
Cyber Safe will be aired on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:15am, with the repeat broadcast on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 12:45pm. Tune in to the first episode of Cyber Safe at 7:15am this coming Monday, 7th April 2014 on Pilihan FM, 95.9 & 96.9 FM.
