Organised by IT Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS), the ITPSS Futsal Cup Tournament 2012 kicked off today at the company’s futsal court in Beribi. Awg Hj Hamdan Hj Abu Bakar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITPSS, officiated the start of the tournament.

A total of 20 teams are competing, comprising several of ITPSS’ prominent clients and partners. These include Attorney General’s Chambers, Telekom Brunei Sdn Bhd (TelBru), Authority for Info-Communication Industry (AITI), Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Immigration & National Registration Department, Internal Security Department (ISD), Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the defending champions of the ITPSS Futsal Cup 2010, E-Government National Centre (EGNC).

By way of double elimination, 12 teams were eliminated on the first day of the event. The remaining 8 teams have booked their place in the quarter final, namely ISD ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’, RBPF ‘A’ & ‘B’, Immigration ‘A’, EGNC ‘B’ and PMO. The quarter-final, semi-final & final matches are expected to be played on Sunday, 22 April 2012 at the ITPSS Futsal Court.

The ITPSS Futsal Cup Tournament was previously held in 2006, 2007 and 2010. The sporting event is aimed at strengthening working relations between ITPSS and its clients and partners, in addition to promoting an active lifestyle amongst participants. Officials from the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) refereed all the games.
