A group of 26 students from Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT) made an educational visit today to IT Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS) as part of their studies in Computer Networking.

The group comprised of Higher National Diploma in Computing students and their lecturer Mr Dennis. The purpose of their visit was to gain some insight into the operation of ITPSS and practical familiarisation on some of the of hardware and devices used in the company in order to supplement various subjects learned in their classroom at CCCT.

The visit began with an introduction to ITPSS and the range of IT security services offered. Hj Mas Zuraime Hj Abdul Hamid, Head of Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT), elaborated on ITPSS’s roles & functions as Brunei’s national CERT, in addition to services such as Managed Security Services and IT security awareness training. The highlight of the visit was an introduction to Systems Integration and a demonstration of the border control system conducted by ITPSS’s Project Manager, Haji Mohammad Azri Haji Awang Ibrahim.

Lastly, the students were given a brief career talk by Human Resources Executive, Mordeny Hj Modihi, who described the various career opportunities available in ITPSS for local IT professionals. The visit was concluded with a tour of the premises and its facilities.
