Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) conducted an awareness talk on internet safety at Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah last week. The talk was attended by around 400 lower sixth form students.

Pg Mohd Farid Zulhusni Pg Aziz, Lead Trainer at BruCERT highlighted the latest cyber threats that are trending around the world. In addition to online threats, Pg Mohd Farid also discussed international scam calls disguised as local numbers. The students had interesting questions on this topic, and were advised not to reveal any personal indentification details, passwords or bank information.

BruCERT also held similar awareness talks at SOAS College and Haji Mohd Jaafar Maun Primary School recently. Students were briefed on how to stay safe on social media, and tips on strengthening passwords. Pg Mohd Farid also shared some cybercrime case studies which have happened in Brunei Darussalam.
