UTB, ITPSS deepen cooperation with MoU

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and ITPSS Sdn Bhd yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to forge cooperations for student exchange, academic exchange, collaborative research, joint conferences and seminars at UTB Gallery, The Pearl building.
UTB Vice-Chancellor Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman and ITPSS Chief Executive Officer Shamsul Bahri bin Haji Kamis signed the MoU.
Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah said the MoU serves as a milestone and to bring opportunities as well as strengthen commitment to the nation’s need for safeguarding against incidents and cyber threats.
She added, “I recognise that ITPSS has been continuously supporting UTB, such as our Experience Plus programmes, by accepting our students as interns and Cyber Security Brunei’s (CSB) continuous collaboration in awarding our students for their production of cybersecurity awareness videos.”
She congratulated ITPSS for obtaining the accreditation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017(AR3125:2019) standard for the National Digital Forensics Laboratory awarded in August 2022 and for CSB as well as awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification in February 2023.
The Computer Network and Security programme from the School of Computing and Informatics, has developed programmes, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Information Security and Master of Science in Cyber Security, dedicated to develop knowledge for future information security workforce.
The working rapport will encourage close cooperation between staff from both organisations and also benefit students.
She shared the objectives of the MoU are to encourage and promote cooperation in exchange of knowledge, where both parties can cooperate in the field of study visits, joint academic research findings, publications, and other academic and educational information as well as joint scientific and technological meetings, symposiums, and lectures.
